General Purpose: As a Barista, you will be the face of our coffee shop, responsible for crafting and serving exceptional coffee and espresso beverages. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, and other beverages with precision and consistency.
- Ensure that all coffee drinks are made to the highest standards.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests.
- Familiarize yourself with the coffee shop’s menu, including different coffee blends, flavor profiles, and special offerings.
- Stay updated on seasonal or promotional items.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain cash register accuracy.
- Provide customers with receipts and process payments efficiently.
- Prepare and serve light snacks, pastries, and other food items as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the food preparation area.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the coffee shop, including the serving area and dining space.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment and utensils regularly.
- Monitor coffee bean, milk, and other supplies levels.
- Assist in restocking supplies and placing orders as necessary.
- Ensure beverages are served in clean and attractive cups and glasses.
- May be responsible for creating latte art or other decorative presentations.
- Work efficiently during peak hours to minimize wait times for customers.
- Prioritize and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- 1yr experience as a barista
- A genuine passion for coffee and a desire to continuously learn about different coffee blends, brewing methods, and coffee culture.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to interact positively with a diverse range of customers.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency in coffee preparation and presentation.
- Effective verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new recipes, equipment, and techniques.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with other baristas and staff to create a positive work environment.
