The Bloom Coffee & Start-Up Space is seeking an experienced and innovative Chef to lead our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for menu development, food preparation, quality control, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared in accordance with company standards. This role requires culinary expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team while maintaining the highest levels of food quality, safety, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and execute menu items that align with The Bloom’s concept and standards.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency in quality and taste.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, discipline, and professional growth.
- Monitor inventory, manage food costs, and implement portion control to minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards at all times.
- Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring proper use, cleanliness, and reporting of maintenance needs.
- Coordinate with management to design seasonal offerings, special menus, and event catering.
- Uphold company policies, including scheduling, performance management, and workplace conduct.
Qualifications
- At least three (3) years of professional culinary experience in a café, restaurant, or hotel setting, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of international and local cuisines, food preparation techniques, and plating styles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a kitchen team effectively.
- Knowledge of menu costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations control.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Creativity in menu design, with the ability to balance innovation and customer preferences.
- Willing and able to work on a flexible schedule, including graveyard shifts, weekends, and holidays, as business operations may require.
- Must be reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining the highest culinary and service standards.
- Must be willing to be assigned in Davao City.
